Hello, this is Jerry Vidmar with CID Basements. We’re here in Highlands Ranch Colorado today to show you a finished basement project that we started a few weeks ago.
As you can see in the video, a wall was removed to install a custom rail and banister. The homeowners opted to use metal balusters instead of wood.
We have maintained the storage area in the crawlspace. A cabinet door was added for accessibility, so the owners can continue to use for storage.
We provided a finished closet and pantry area with shelving to use for bulk food storage. A bathroom was added with custom cabinetry, along with the homeowner’s choices in newer, modern bathroom fixtures and faucets. All cabinetry was built in our woodshop and designed for the specific needs of this particular homeowner.
The staircase has been enclosed and a closet for storage added. The homeowners talked about eventually putting a wine cellar in this area.
An additional clothes closet was created, which can be used for winter clothes, ski equipment, and related gear.
The mechanical area is also completely enclosed and can be accessed by a door. The walls are completely insulated, so to reduce sound from the furnace.
The new media area has been completed and now includes a flat screen TV. We have also provided a custom fireplace, including a mantle and a dimensional stone feature that compliments the area nicely. A sump pump has also been built into the wall in this area, and is still completely accessible.
A post provides support for the floor system of the home, which was wrapped in wood. A cocktail was also added in this case, allowing for additional seating space.
This is a walkout basement, which leads to the bar. The bar is setup so that people can use it from the outside, and is easily accessible for food space, and beverage preparation. The bar’s cabinetry is also custom built in our woodshop, all tailored to the specific needs of the homeowner, including design and color. High quality drawer slides, drawer boxes, and a higher grade of cabinetry were used, all built to fit this specific area.
The homeowners say they use this basement everyday and love the new area. It has provided the family with a lot of needed space and great access to a beautiful backyard.
