This beautiful basement in Castle Pines was built with many traditional and custom architectural features. The custom cabinetry was built with self closing full extension drawer slides along with solid Baltic Birch drawer box construction for durability and ease of operation. The cabinetry features custom full radius arch doors with concealed European door hinges.
The custom wet bar built in our own wood shop features lower cabinetry with an under counter microwave drawer, under counter refrigerators and a full size dishwasher.
A front working countertop with storage cabinets below is located directly behind the front sit up bar. The front bar features a stone facia that matches and ties in nicely with the custom fireplace surround and mantle in the media room.
The back bar features an open glass and wood shelving area for glass ware and wine storage with a mirror and glass tile backsplash that ties in to the front bar splash.
Counter tops are custom fabricated slab Granite.
Behind the upper bar area a hidden access panel provides access to the main house water supply and shutoff. This access is built in to the shelving layout and is completely disguised.
The back bar features custom fabricated fluted panel details that tie in with other panel details throughout the project. The column at the bottom of the stairs is constructed of matching flute details to tie in nicely to the bar details. The back bar has display lighting above the glass shelves for beautiful back lighting.
To the side of the bar a water feature and sitting area has been set into an arch and niche detail.
A beautiful curved wall on the other side of the bar draws attention toward the bar area creating a comfortable and warm area for entertaining friends and family.
A large home office is hidden behind a swinging bookcase door which is one section of a large custom bookcase system. The bookcase system features open adjustable shelving above with custom full arch detail doors covering the lower section. The fluted panel detail used at the bar is incorporated into the bookcase to provide continuity.
Other details also have been added to reflect the owners personal tastes.
A day bed niche was created with game storage below and open shelving. This area provides for an additional sleeping area as well as an area to study or read. Lighting in the area is set up for reading or can be dimmed for lounging.
The basement is set up for a future pool table along with an open style theater area with a projection TV system with a full surround speaker system. Media equipment is stored neatly on a racking system under the stairs.
The stone faced gas fireplace is set off to the side of the media area with a small conversation area.
In the corner of the basement an enclosed exercise area with a full mirrored wall and French glass doors provides a bright and airy space for working out.
Along the side of the basement a craft and hobby room with two large windows was created. Clean colorful cabinetry from IKEA creates a bright and warm area for inspired arts and crafts endeavors.
